I found this article about Egypt and problem with low tourisms there. It is really true. There are cities and also historical sites the look like gost cities because you will find NOBODY there. No foreign tourist, where years before where milions and milions of people there.
Oh it's so sad. I was in Luxor this february - 2014 - with a group for my usual dance retreat - and in the suq, in Hatsepsut temple or Karnak or Luxor temple we where the only tourists. In the suq shops are closed because they already know in the morning it has absolutely no sense to open the shop, because there will be not one tourist passing by all day long. And even if ONE would come there, for sure this poor guy can not buy something from any shop - it's clear.
Peoples income is mostly from tourism, so - no tourists - no money - no money - nothing to eat. My friends told me, that they try to help each other where they can. And fortunately there are many farmlands so vegetables and fruits are always available. But for sure they cannot live this way for longer time.
Yes - there happened some bad things in Cairo - but in other egyptian regions there happened nothing, there life is going on like always. No revolution, nothing strange happening - people only want to live, want to work and want to feel happy and relaxed.
So read this article below and come with me in november to substain egypt within our small possibilities.
